The Division of Emergency Medicine at BC Children’s Hospital and UBC Continuing Professional Development collaborate to put on an annual provincial Pediatric Emergency Medicine Update Conference at UBC Downtown Robson Square site each spring. This 2-day conference covers the latest trends and concepts in Pediatric Emergency Medicine Subspecialty.
The topics include recent research, practice-altering articles and guidelines, practical approaches to common pediatric emergencies, and spot diagnosis quiz. The presenters include international, national, and local experts in the field of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The format is didactic presentations in the morning and interactive simultaneous workshops in the afternoon.
The conference targets pediatricians and emergency physicians and senior medical trainees. Allied health care professional attend this conference as well at a lower cost.
Each year, the conference has a specific theme. The 13th annual Update conference in May 2016 will center around the theme of infant and neonatal emergencies.

In 2016, the participants received 11.25 MOC section 1 or Mainpro M1 credits by attending this conference.
